We have a new site!

We have a new site!

It has been several years since our website was redesigned. The time has come, and our new site is live!

The creation of our new site involved some very intentional considerations. We wanted the new website to represent us, what we do and how we do it. We didn't just want an updated site. Of course new trends in design and changes in technology have come into play, but we also wanted our website to communicate more about our process, our work, and our relationship with our clients. We knew we needed a site that is user-friendly, informative, and fun. After fully understanding our goals for the new site, we set off!

What do our clients care about?

We began with several client-focused questions. What do they want to know when they land on our site? What are they looking for, and what is relevant to them? What are we telling them and the rest of the world through our site?

We thought a straight-up-the-middle organization of our portfolio according to deliverable did not capture the holistic, goal-driven approach we take to addressing our clients’ objectives. Therefore, we developed higher level categories for our work: Branding & Corporate Identity, Events, Digital Marketing and Sales Generation. It’s not just a list of deliverables for clients to pick from, but an organized approach to our clients’ larger goals. We ask our clients to tell us what they need, and we help determine how to get them there.

Our understanding of our clients’ industries and the needs they face as marketers are the most important aspects of any project, large or small.

Our mobile users get the good stuff too.

Mobile is everywhere – smart phones, tablets, even eye wear soon. Our clients are tech savvy and typically on the go. You most likely use a smartphone or a tablet, perhaps in addition to a traditional PC. Therefore, we were not going to compromise user experience when moving from desktops to mobile devices. Our solution was simple: responsive design. The old site was built in Flash, which was not optimal for SEO and has been rendered obsolete in the mobile age. With our new design, users get a fuller and smoother experience, no matter how or where they view the site.

Lightsource Website and Mobile

The biggest decision was non-negotiable.

We needed to build our entire site on a CMS. Managing our own content and having the ability to change posts and update our work easily—daily even—lets us promote exactly what we want, when we want to. There’s no need for our development team to create code, and then review and implement. Now, the control is in the hands of our entire team. Is your website on a Content Management System? Ask us about it. It’s become the only way we know (and love).

Ready to explore!

Building our website wasn't all serious stuff. We've enjoyed collaborating on this internal project from coast-to-coast, and we’ve added some fun things to the site, too! Go ahead and change the color palette, scroll through our portfolio, apply for an internship, or give us a call. We want you to explore and react. It’s been a blast building our site, and we hope you enjoy it too!
